Our Stories

Deidre Kelly works as an interpreter on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, providing simultaneous interpretation from French into English at committee meetings, press conferences, caucus meetings and sittings of the Senate and the House of Commons.

Trish Van Bolderen lives in Dublin, Ireland and works full-time as a freelance translator (from French and Spanish into English) and English-language reviser. She also works as a Translation Studies scholar, having obtained a PhD in that area.

After graduating from UPEI's Modern Languages program, Abby is living and working in Spain as an educational assistant and cultural ambassador.

UPEI’s Teaching and Learning Centre held its first Faculty Academy Day on September 1, 2022 with 27 instructional staff attending sessions in their Robertson Library Annex learning space. The successful event is a new initiative from the Teaching and Learning Centre, offering collegial professional development primarily for sessional and early career instructors.

The International Student Employment Support Program (ISESP) offered a group of first and second-year UPEI students the opportunity to gain employability skills through a combination of professional development training and a paid summer internship.
